How an Engagement Runs

Five stages, from first meeting to follow-up.

  1. Understand

We meet your team to understand your organisation, operations and expectations. We review the terms of reference, agree scope, timelines, team and fees, and confirm everything in an engagement letter.

  2. Plan

We assess risks, set materiality and design the procedures we will perform. You receive a tailored document request list well before fieldwork starts, so there are no surprises.

  3. Fieldwork

We test transactions, balances and controls at your office and, where needed, at field locations. We raise queries as we go, rather than saving them all for the end.

  4. Discuss Findings

We share draft findings with management, discuss each one and record your responses. Nothing is finalised until you have had the chance to comment.

  5. Report & Follow Up

We issue the final report and management letter, present results to the board or donor if required, and help you track progress on recommendations afterwards.
